E-Flash Cards

So how do e-flash cards differ from regular flash cards - those staples of a young student's life?

Their purpose is the same - to provide a learning tool that will either provide new bits of knowledge, or to serve as a reinforcement tool used during study time. The difference, of course, is the medium through which they are accessed. Instead of opening a cardboard box and extracting a set of cards, our e-flash cards can be found on our website, and each set is created by either a teacher or a parent.

The process is very simple - just complete a very easy on-line form to enter a question or word or image for one side of the card, and supply the answer for the other side. Up to 20 cards can make up a set, and they can relate to any topic. Save the set and receive a code number that is specific to this set of cards. Access the Premiere-Schools website, select your school, and go to the E-Flash page. An entry field will allow you to enter your personal code number and your set of cards will be revealed. For children, this is a computer game, albeit an educational one.

Another unusual feature, is the fact that for each card set that is created, the designated school liaison will be notified, and then has the ability to approve that set for other school visitors to use. If sets are too individualized for use by the school as a whole, the liaison can choose to let them remain private for use only by the teacher or parent. For the rare occasion when the content of the card set is deemed to be inappropriate for a school website, the set can be disabled by the liaison, providing the school with control over content.
